Idiom Guessing Contest
Idioms are an integral part of traditional Chinese culture, which are popular because of their profound ideological connotation. Also, idioms are short, incisive and easy to remember. In order to examine students' accumulation of idioms, strengthen their language quality and humanistic accomplishment, on the afternoon of 22nd December, the Chinese group of the Junior High School Division of the east campus organized the 7th and 8th grade students to attend the activity of 'Looking at Pictures and Guessing Idioms'.
To begin with, the event was held simultaneously in two venues. On the one hand, 10 students from each class of Grade 7 and Grade 8 were selected to participate in the competition in the school lecture hall. On the other hand, the rest of the students competed in their respective classrooms. More remarkably, the atmosphere was lively. Specifically, before the game, the players were in high spirits, who were all ready to display their skills. In the competition, the contestants meticulously observed and carefully answered. After a fierce competition, the awards was selected.
To sum up, this contest not only inspired students' enthusiasm for learning idioms, but also enhanced their humanistic quality and enriched their campus life.
